Spyware

Spyware is software that runs on a computer without the explicit permission of its user. This software can be very hard to remove, because it is hidden in harmless programs. It can display advertising, often gathers private information from a user's computer and sends these data over the internet back to the software manufacturer, and can even control the computer.
